We began importing aluminum foil in the early 1920s to service domestic demand. But the imported product was expensive and it was inevitable that a local version would soon appear. In 1931, we teamed up with a local manufacturer, and the domestic product was launched the following year. Today, we supply more than 3,000 tons of aluminum foil per year for a variety of applications including electronic components, food and pharmaceutical product packaging and construction materials.

The product range extends to metal powders, pearl pigments and functional pigments, and includes products tailored to specific applications in specific fields. We offer a variety of metallic colors, many of which contain rare substances. Powders are combined with pigments and inks for use in a range of products, from cars and medical equipment to electronic components and digital devices.
The company started offering powder products in 1916. Locally produced powders were of very poor quality at the time, providing the ideal opportunity to become the first supplier in Japan to offer good-quality powders imported from Germany. As quality levels improved, we began to investigate domestic and American alternatives that would meet the company’s stringent quality expectations, in line with our core philosophy of identifying the very best products available, whether that be at home or abroad.

We were the first in the industry pioneer to start importing metallic stamping foil for paper and molded articles. This was back in 1954, when we were still providing decorative materials such as metal leaf and aluminum paste. Then in 2008 we introduced other decorative printing services such as integrated pigmentation and full surface coatings of molded articles. In this way, we now offer range of surface finishes for flat and molded articles in plastic and paper-based materials.
The other main purpose of surface finishes is to add functionality to a product or package. Surface treatment of materials such as elastomers has traditionally proven difficult; however with modern technology it is now possible to provide functional enhancements such as better durability, scratch resistance and improved grip even on elastomers.
